Polar Heart Rate Monitors Review

Let's check out the Polar Heart Rate Monitors . . .

The intensity of your exercise and other physical activities directly affects the working of the heart.  With a heart monitor, you'll get the feedback you need to stay on track to meet your fitness goals, whether you wish to lose weight, increase your stamina, or achieve other health objectives.

Polar heart rate monitors are market leaders, known for their quality and consumer friendly features. Here, we'll take a look at a few of their most popular heart monitors.

Polar F6 Heart Rate Monitor Watch

The Polar F6 Heart Rate Monitor Watchis loaded with features.  For starters, it has a coded transmission signal that prevents interference from other heart rate monitors in your immediate area.  This is perfect when you're working out amongst a group or in a class with others wearing heart monitors.

The Polar F6 also has a large, easy-to-read display with a split screen that shows a 24-hour clock with day and week indicator, as well as a stopwatch.

And of course, it displays your heart rate, how long you have been working out and your average heart rate during that period.

The Zone Pointer feature is helpful, too. This gives your heart rate, target heart rate zone and your current heart rate within that target.

Want to measure how many calories you've burned over time, to accelerate your weight loss? The Polar OwnCal provides the calorie consumption for your current workout, and tracks this against your daily or weekly calorie expenditure goals. This is a great way to gauge your ongoing progress.

Aside from these features, the Polar F6 also has Fitness Bullets. These display in bullet format when you have spent 10 minutes performing exercises in your target heart rate zone.

The Polar F6 also includes a Polar Precision Performance 4.0 software and SonicLinc feature that enables you to upload exercise settings to the software, or to the Polar web site. It is water resistant up to 30 meters or 100 feet.

Polar FS1 Heart Rate Monitor Watch

The Polar FS1 Heart Rate Monitor is one of the more basic heart monitors from Polar, with less bells-and-whistles than the other watches. But it still gets the job done.

The Polar FS1 Heart Rate Monitor Watch is simple to operate with its one-button functionality feature. This is a big time-saver. Just attach the buttons to the chest strap, slid it around your chest, and press the button on the watch to activate monitoring. That's all you need to do.

The monitor gives a visual and audio alarm once you reach your target heart rate zone. And the extra-large digits on the display make it easy to read.

Statistics tracked include the total time you have exercised, as well as the average heart rate (in beats per minute or bpm) during the entire session.

You can also use this heart monitor just like a normal timepiece, as it includes regular watch settings.

This device is water-resistant up to 50 meters/165 ft.

Polar F11 Heart Rate Monitor Watch

The Polar F11 Heart Rate Monitor Watch offers plenty of bang for the buck (see the video review above).  It actually creates a personalized workout program for you, called Keeps U Fit.

With this feature, you'll get customized feedback on exactly what you need to do to reach your fitness goals. The Polar F11 suggests workout frequency, intensity, and duration.

It's a bit like having a personal fitness trainer peeking over your shoulder offering guidance.

The Polar F11 is also worn on the wrist and includes a big display with a split screen, and backlighting.

Like some of the other Polar heart rate monitors, this one also includes the Wearlink Coded transmitter, to eliminate interference from other heart rate monitors.

Any of these Polar Heart Rate Monitors are great tools to monitor your heart's performance, making it easy for you to stay on track and achieve your fitness goals. Highly recommended.
