Sole F80 Treadmill Review

The Sole F80 Treadmill is one of the most popular models in the highly regarded line of Sole treadmills. It comes with a wide range of user-friendly features and a sturdy design, making this cardio exercise machine a good choice for walkers and runners at nearly all fitness levels.

As you would expect from a home exercise treadmill at this price point, the Sole F80 Treadmill includes a 3.0 HP continuous duty motor, with high torque. This is plenty of power. The machine easily reaches speeds up to 11mph.

The machine comes preloaded with six preset programs. You can create two workout programs of your own, too.

The wireless heart monitor is another useful feature. Wireless chest-strap monitors will generally give you a much more accurate reading than hand grip sensors, so this is a value-added extra that you'll get with this Sole treadmill.

The incline achieves a grade of up to 15%, guaranteeing a demanding workout if you desire. It uses a rack-and-pinion gear design, for smooth, stable operation.

The Cushion Flex Whisper Deck is another great bonus feature. Invented and patented by Sole, this groundbreaking design has been shown in a study to reduce impact on joints by up to 40%, making this a sound choice if you have bad knees or ankles, or are recovering from injury.

Sole F80 Treadmill - Reviews Summary

Positives . . .

Consumers and expert reviewers have a lot of good things to say about the Sole F80 Treadmill. Let's cover the key points.

First of all, this is a solidly constructed piece of exercise equipment. If you've ever stayed in a Hilton and visited the fitness center, then you've seen Sole Treadmills. Sole engineers these machines to withstand the daily pounding that comes from being used by thousands of hotel guests a year, and the Sole F80 Treadmill is no exception.

The 3.0 HP continuous duty motor earns praise from consumers. It offers an impressive amount of power, topping out at a speed of 11mph.

But Sole has kept safety in mind, too. Once you've selected your program, there is a three-second countdown before the belt begins to move, and then the motor gets up to speed within six to eight seconds, giving you time to prepare, and preventing accidents.

The electronic control panel is functional, and with clear buttons and an easy-to-read, red LED display.  Messages scroll across the window, informing you of Speed, Incline, Time, Distance Traveled, Calories, Pulse and Pace.

One feature that consumers appreciate is that speed and incline controls are located on the main console, and the handles.

The Sole F80 Treadmill has a user weight capacity of 350 pounds, more than the typical home treadmill. Heavier users working to drop pounds will appreciate the greater capacity and strong frame.

Last but not least, Sole has perhaps the best exercise equipment warranty in the industry--a testament to their confidence in their products. With this model, you'll get lifetime coverage on the motor, frame, and deck; five years on electronics; and two years of in-home labor service.

Drawbacks . . .

There seem to be very few cons to owning the Sole F80 Treadmill, but there may be areas of concern. The running surface is 20 inches by 55 inches. If you are tall (over 6ft) this may be a bit too short for your stride.

This is a heavy piece of fitness equipment--about two hundred and fifty pounds. You definitely will want help getting it inside your home, and if you ever need to move it through a doorway, you may need to disassemble it first.
