Weslo Cadence Treadmills

Weslo Cadence Treadmills are simple indoor exercise machines built for fitness-minded consumers on a tight budget.  You'll find them displayed in the exercise equipment department of stores such as Wal-Mart, Sears, and Target.

Weslo Treadmills are manufactured by ICON Health & Fitness.  Other brands in ICON's home fitness equipment line include Weider, Proform, Reebok, Image, Epic, NordicTrack, and HealthRider.

Keeping in tune with the brand's slogan, "Fitness for Real People," you'll find these exercise machines priced in the very reasonable range of $200 - $400.

At this price point, the warranty offered is quite limited: 90 days on parts and labor, with coverage on the motor extending for up to one year.

This is something to keep in mind. If long-term durability is important to you, you are best advised to seek out more expensive models with more comprehensive warranty coverage.

These treadmills also tend to include smaller running decks.  For example, the deck on the C44, the priciest of these models, is 16" by 47".  If you are taller than average (6ft, or so) this will probably be uncomfortable for you.

The advantage of this smaller footprint, of course, is that the machine will be easy to store when not in use. This is helpful if space is limited in your home.

Overall, a Weslo Cadence treadmill is best used for simple, low-intensity workouts: walking, and light jogging.  It is not designed for serious runners, or for consumers who desire a full suite of high-tech features.

But if you merely want to walk indoors at a brisk pace for thirty minutes or so, and you don't want to spend a lot of money and don't need lots of features, these treadmills might be worth a look.

Weslo Cadence Treadmills - Popular Models

Weslo Cadence 55

The Weslo Cadence 55 treadmill is one of the more powerful machines in the product line. It is equipped with a 2.0 horsepower motor that reaches a speed of 8 mph, which meets the needs of the average user interested in light workouts.

Comfort Cell cushioning is standard on this treadmill.  This special system can reduce impact on joints by as much as 15% when compared to running on pavement outdoors.

The Cadence 55 includes a manual incline that peaks at a 5% grade.  The blue-tinted LCD display provides data on fitness metrics such as time, speed, distance, calories burned.

This model also boasts a SpaceSaver Design (folding) and has a weight capacity of 250 pounds.

Weslo Cardio Stride Plus

The Cardio Stride Plus is the least expensive machine in the Weslo Treadmills line, coming in at right around $200 MSRP.

It offers basic features, such as a 3-position manual incline, and a dual flywheel to power the treadbelt.

Keep in mind: this flywheel won't generate anywhere near the power of a continuous duty HP motor. This cardio machine is best used for low-intensity walking.

Other useful features include a Step-by-Step Console with a large LCD display, and easy SpaceSaver folding for storage.

Weslo Cadence C44

The C44 falls at the upper end of the price range for these Weslo Cadence Treadmills, with an MSRP of $399.

For this price, you'll get a sturdier design than the other models offer. You'll also get a real motor: a 1.3 HP continuous duty motor. The digital speed control system achieves a speed up to 10 mph.

The manual incline offers three settings: 3%, 6%, and 9%. The Comfort Cell cushioning system is designed to minimize wear and tear on your knees, ankles, and feet.

Along with a big LCD display that gives you feedback on your exercise session, the Cadence C44 also includes an EKG heart rate monitor (a thumb sensor, which some users have found to be less accurate than a chest monitor).

A safety key, found on most quality treadmills, is standard on this machine.  The key is necessary to operate the C44 and clips to your clothing for immediate shut-down if you lose your balance.

This Weslo Cadence treadmill has a user weight limit of 250 pounds.  It comes with a 1-year warranty on the motor.
